Ok, you can dip vegetables in it anyway! But the idea comes from the popular onion chips dip. A little extra for the TV snack of the endless "Netflix and Chill" in which we have been living in for a few months!
Makes about 1 cup of the dip
Preparation: 10 minutes
Rest: 2 to 3 hours
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise
1/2 cup plain vegan yogurt
1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast
2 teaspoons of onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon of sugar
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
Pepper to taste
Chopped fresh chives for garnish
In a frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat and cook the onion for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden and lightly caramelized. Transfer to a bowl.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Adjust the seasoning if necessary. Cover or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate at least 2-3 hours. Refrigerating the dip is essential for a tasty dip!
Garnish with chives if desired. Serve with your favorite plain chips!
